Two suicide attacks were carried out outside the crowded Kabul airport on Thursday evening. At least 12 United States service members were killed and 15 others were wounded.

According to local reports, the death toll is at least 90 with over 200 wounded. The Islamic State wing known as ‘ISIS-K is believed to be responsible for the attacks.

The first bomb was detonated near the airport’s Abbey Gate and the other near the Baron Hotel. Hours later, witnesses reported a third blast elsewhere in the city.

A video that was sent to us a few moments ago shows a really strange situation! The US military at one of the checkpoints at the Kabul airport side by side with the Taliban moments before the blasts.

The video is filmed with a helmet-mounted camera of one of the American Marines at the Kabul airport, in an area where US forces are responsible for the security.”.

The Biden Administration reportedly turned over security to the Taliban and even gave the Taliban a list of Americans and Afghans they know are still trapped in Afghanistan.

According to reports, US officials were tipped off by UK and Russian intelligence before the bombings

The attack marked one of the single deadliest days for U.S. forces in Afghanistan in the 20 years since the allied invasion.

General McKenzie said U.S. forces are “prepared to take action” against the assailants. “Twenty-four seven, we are looking for them,” he said. McKenzie added that he expects the attacks to continue, and the threat of ongoing attacks remains high.

A Taliban spokesman condemned the “gruesome incident” and said the group “will take every step to bring the culprits to justice.”

As the U.S. rushes to evacuate U.S. citizens and Afghans who helped American troops during the war, as well as those at risk from the Taliban, Mr. Biden has warned that the risk to American and allied forces on the ground was growing with each day that passes.
