President Trump just executed a masterstroke of maximum pressure after marathon peace talks in Islamabad collapsed with no agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.
Following Vice President JD Vance’s 21-hour negotiating session that secured progress on most issues but failed on the critical uranium enrichment and nuclear weapons front, Trump took decisive action.
In a powerful Truth Social post, the President declared:
> “Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz… THIS IS WORLD EXTORTION… No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas… Any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!”
He added that the U.S. will continue destroying the mines Iran haphazardly laid (and now claims it can’t locate), while warning the regime that its navy, air force, and much of its leadership are already gone due to their nuclear ambitions.
**U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has now confirmed the details and timeline:**
– The blockade of **all Iranian ports and coastal areas** begins today, **April 13 at 10 a.m. ET** (5:30 p.m. local time in Iran).
– It will be enforced **impartially** against vessels of **all nations** entering or departing Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf (Persian Gulf) and Gulf of Oman.
– **Freedom of navigation remains open** for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from **non-Iranian ports** (e.g., Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, etc.).
– U.S. naval forces will interdict any vessels that paid Iran’s illegal “toll” for safe passage.
– Mariners are advised to monitor Notices to Mariners and use bridge-to-bridge radio channel 16 when operating in the area.
In short: Iran is cut off from exporting its oil and profiting from extortion, while the rest of the world’s shipping through the strait to non-Iranian destinations can continue. The regime’s leverage is evaporating in real time.
This is classic Trump: peace through strength. The mullahs chanted “Death to America,” mined the strait, and tried to hold global energy supplies hostage — and now they’re watching the U.S. Navy lock down their economy without firing a shot (unless they’re foolish enough to shoot first).
The fragile ceasefire holds for now, but Iran is effectively powerless to stop this. Their navy is gone. Their air defenses are degraded. And with the USS Gerald R. Ford and Abraham Lincoln carrier groups in position, America controls the chokepoint.
Other nations are reportedly joining or supporting the effort. Empty tankers are already heading to load up on American oil instead.
Trump is checkmating the regime. The ball is in Iran’s court: cave on the nuclear issue and end the extortion, or watch what’s left of their economy collapse while the U.S. stands ready to “finish up the little that is left of Iran” if necessary.
This is what winning looks like. No more weakness. No more endless talks that lead nowhere.
We’ll update as the blockade takes effect and any responses from Tehran come in.
