Senator Dianne Feinstein serving California in the U.S. Senate for nearly 25 years. Before serving in the Senate, Dianne Feinstein was the first female president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and the first female mayor of San Francisco.
Last week she refused to back the impeachment of President Trump and instead called for “patience” over his presidency. She thinks President Donald Trump could be a good president.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, admitted Tuesday the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program was on “shaky legal ground.” Watch the video below!
According to Los Angeles Times:
Feinstein was asked about the legality of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program during an appearance on MSNBC.
“DACA was an executive order. Legal is the law of passage of something,” Feinstein responded. “You know there is 10 attorneys general that is prepared to sue. I don’t want to get into that. The point is DACA is here and we’ve got 800,000 young people who depend on this.”
“Meet the Press Daily” host Chuck Todd said that Feinstein’s answer implied that the program was “on shaky legal ground.”
“It is,” Feinstein responded. “That’s why we need to pass a law, and we should do it.”
The Democrat’s words questioning the legality of the DACA program seemed to echo U.S. Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions’ explanation for why the Trump administration was phasing it out, saying that Obama had exceeded his legal authority.
Feinstein’s remarks are likely to fuel criticism among the most liberal members of her party, some of whom have said that she has grown out of touch with her constituents as she ponders whether to seek a sixth term next year
Trump knows and so does Obama and everyone else, that the best thing for the dreamers is to end DACA. Congress needs to get off their duffs and produce and pass legislation that will make a clear and legal road to citizenship for these young people. They have been lied to, used and abused by the system long before Trump became president. Continuing DACA would be like throwing more dirt on them, they would never become legitimate. I think of this as like adopting a child, you go through the process and to get legal guardianship, or you forever live in fear of that child being ripped from your home.
If a Democrat like Feinstein says the law was ‘shaky’, you can bet it was completely illegal.
