A disturbing video uploaded to Facebook showed a just-wed Muslim man slapping his new bride across the face for daring to play a tiny prank on him.
Little information was provided regarding the source of the video, but comments from the poster indicated that the video was of a newlywed Muslim couple, though no date or location was indicated.
In the video, the Muslim man could be seen sitting by his wife. A moment later, he used his finger to scoop up a piece of a cake his wife was holding. As he brought his finger close to her face, so as to feed her some cake, she quickly pulled it out of his fingers and fed herself.
She obviously meant to do that in jest, but the Muslim man apparently took offense to it, as he then forcefully slapped her across the face. Watch:
While such acts of domestic abuse horrify Americans, they unfortunately barely draw a glimmer of attention in the Muslim world, where anti-women harassment and abuse run more rampant than the everyday cold.
In fact, Islam’s most sacred book, the Quran, specifically extols domestic violence.
“And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath,” it reads in regard to how a man should treat his wife.
It continues:
“Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.”
Allah is great, and women are not — and therein lies all any civilized man or woman needs to know about the tenets of radical Islam.
