Chris Cuomo, CNN News anchor and brother of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, was criticized on Twitter this weekend after he joked that he’s “black on the inside” while talking to journalist and CNN colleague Don Lemon.
The comment came after he was singing the theme song to Good Times, a television show popular in the 1970s about a black family living in Chicago.
Laughing, Lemon asked Chris Cuomo how he knew the words to the song, to which Christ Cuomo responded, “You know, I’m black on the inside.”

Chris, the 50-year-old news anchor, and brother to embattled New York governor Andrew Cuomo, was blasted for the comments he made.
While some defended Chris Cuomo’s comment as “a joke”, they immediately became a lightning rod for criticism.
The comment sparked backlash on Twitter after USA Today sports reporter Mike Freeman pointed to the statement alongside a perplexed image of Tom from the cartoon Tom and Jerry on Friday.

Many Twitter users slammed Chris, who once said calling an Italian-American “Fredo” was on par with using the N-word.
“It’s f***ing offensive,” tweeted Sister2Sister managing editor Aisha Staggers. “Black isn’t something you can just say you feel you are inside without having to deal with the racism that comes with being physically Black on the outside.
“This is cultural appropriation.”
Well, when you support crazy policies you can’t make jokes anymore but that’s CNN’s work they did it this to themselves.
Another video that went viral this morning allegedly shows Chris Cuomo painted in black and dressed as a fitness instructor.
The video is titled:
