An 11-year-old boy is dead five other individuals were taken to hospitals after a mass shooting Friday night in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati.
Police responded at about 9:20 p.m. Friday to the 700 block of Bent Drive for a report of several people being shot.
One child, later identified as an 11-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene. Five other people were wounded, but police have not identified them by age or gender.
Three victims were taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and two were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Police confirmed there is no ongoing threat at this time.
“Tonight, there was a horrific tragedy in the West End. Children were shot. At least one life was lost. Our friends and neighbors are feeling unimaginable fear, trauma, and anger,” said Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval in a statement. “Right now, I’m asking for your prayers. We will keep you updated as our officers continue their investigation. But I promise this: we will give everything we have to deliver justice against this sickening, heartless violence.”

Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge spoke at a press conference Friday at the scene near TQL Stadium and Laurel Park. The chief said the shooting occurred at around 9:30 p.m. and was first detected on ShotSpotter.
“We are gathering all evidence so we can bring these people to justice,” Theetge said. “It’s unacceptable on a Friday night that six people are shot in our city.”
Some of the victims were minors. According to the chief, the person killed was identified as a male, but his age was not immediately known.
Theetge said they had no suspect description and didn’t know what prompted the shooting.
What the mainstream media failed to report is the fact that the shooter recently released from a psychiatric hold with unspecified pharmaceuticals prescribed according to local sources.
Also he was black male but the shooting wasn’t gang related as some media first reported!
Police and city officials were planning a Saturday press conference but have now moved it to 2 p.m. Sunday.
They didn’t explain why did they failed reveal the mass shooter and why the press conference was moved for a whole day!
