In this article, we are talking about a sign that is on the church property and he is using his freedom of religion and freedom of speech to spread a message to Christian’s who believe what is being said in the church is Biblical. I agree with the pastor. That’s the right our constitution allows us.
Can anyone else see where this is headed? It’s getting more and more about Islam. This is a Christian Church with strong beliefs. There was nothing offensive on those signs. For a nation that doesn’t want religion running their lives, they don’t mind Islam taking over our schools, our communities, our government, our churches and now our freedom of speech and expression.
The Missionary Baptist Church in Hood River has put up a message on the sign outside their church. “Wake up Christians, Allah is not our God, Mohammed is not greater than Jesus.”
A lot of people in Hood River are upset about that. The mayor, who was out for a bike ride, said, “I was really annoyed and sad. I am annoyed that in this political season there’s a solid case of ugly going on. I think it norms up this kind of behavior like ‘Oh it’s okay to be a big now.’”
The local paper has also had some activity in their letters to the editor column. One letter accuses the pastor of being a terrorist. Another said, “I literally had to stop and back up and make sure I saw what I saw, and I was profoundly offended and upset by it.”
Even a local television station has gotten in on the act.
“I’m not politically correct. I’ve never been politically correct, but I think I’m biblically correct, and that’s what matters to me.” That was Pastor Michael Harrington of the Belmont Drive Missionary Baptist Church.
It’s interesting that Muslims can preach – in Arabic – Sharia law in their mosques and speak openly – again, in Arabic – of slaughtering Jews and other “infidels,” and nobody has a problem with that.
I support Pastor Harrington in his effort,
to tell the truth openly. It’s long past time we stood up for Western values in the face of an invasion from the Middle East.
