Vice President Kamala Harris sparked confusion and backlash on Tuesday night after posting a letter on her Twitter page allegedly from “Tucker,” praising her efforts on gun control. The tweet led many to believe the letter was from conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, given its tone and content.
The letter, posted in Harris’s tweet, begins with praise for America’s free exchange of ideas and goes on to express support for “common sense gun safety laws,” even from a “fairly conservative” perspective. The message thanks Harris and President Biden for their push for such legislation and expresses hope for the administration’s success in this area. The letter was signed simply, “Tucker.”
Tucker, thank you for writing to me. While we may not agree on every issue, we both know that every person in our nation should have the freedom to live safe from gun violence. The majority of Americans stand with us in support of commonsense gun safety legislation. pic.twitter.com/HUdgFUcKtt

However, the post quickly ignited skepticism and mockery online. For many, the notion that Tucker Carlson, a staunch Second Amendment advocate, would pen such a letter to Harris seemed far-fetched. Critics were quick to point out that the letter’s language and tone were inconsistent with Carlson’s public stance on gun rights and his well-known criticism of the Biden administration.
Adding fuel to the fire, the authenticity of the letter came under scrutiny. The signature didn’t match Carlson’s known autograph, and reports surfaced suggesting that the language of the letter was generated by AI, a claim later supported by XRVision. The firm confirmed that while the letter was initially created by AI, it had been altered and written by hand to appear genuine.
You do realize there are pictures of Tucker Carlson’s signature on the Internet, and none of them even remotely resemble this, right?
And Tucker, like most meticulous and intelligent people, dates his letters.

Tucker Carlson himself wasted no time in addressing the situation. In a statement to The Gateway Pundit, he dismissed the letter as a farce, making it clear that he would never support the Democratic Party’s gun control agenda. “Ha! Seriously? I’m carrying a gun right now, as I always do. There are few things I hate more than the Democratic Party’s attempt to disarm the American population. That’s what dictatorships do.”
