Today Joe Biden issued a firm call to heal America’s racial divide, taking several steps and promising more to confront racism and inequality that he said has plagued the United States for far too long.
Only 2,200 people were watching the live video on the White House YouTube page as Biden mumbled through his prepared racial equality remarks on Tuesday.

In his speech, Joe Biden accused all Americans of being a “nation of morally deprived” people.
Joe Biden: I believe we are in a battle for the soul of this nation. And the simple truth is our soul be troubled as long as systemic racism is allowed to persist. We can’t eliminate ‘zimply’ overnight. We can’t ‘eliminateverthing.’ But it’s corrosive, it’s destructive and it’s costly. It costs every American. Not just who felt the sting of racial injustice. We’re not just less of a – We’re not just a nation of morally deprived because of systemic racism. We’re also less prosperous. We’re less successful. We’re less secure.

But maybe Biden’s best performance was his “fight” with his pen.

Presidents often use multiple pens to sign landmark legislation. Then they can give those pens to people responsible. I have no idea why he had the wrestling match with the first pen, and no one else in the room knew probably.
