Was This Self-Defense? Man Wearing MAGA 2024 Hat Confronted, Assaulted with Rocks in Spokane; Pulls Gun and Shoots Another Man (Video)

A new video has surfaced allegedly depicting a shooting incident that occurred in Downtown Spokane on Friday evening.

The livestream, posted on YouTube, purportedly captures moments before, during, and after a shooting near 2nd Avenue and Division Street around 7:15 p.m. on June 7.

Filmed from the perspective of a man who confronted multiple individuals at the intersection just before the shooting, the video shows the man shouting, “You better drop that rock. That’s assault with a weapon. Drop that f—ing rock. Drop the f—ing rock.” Subsequently, two gunshots can be heard.

Later in the video, the camera falls to the ground, and what sounds like police arriving at the scene can be heard. The man in the video can be heard saying, “Sorry, I did it in self-defense.”

When contacted by 4 News Now, Spokane Police declined to comment or confirm whether the livestreamed video was captured by the suspect or if it is being used as evidence in the shooting investigation, citing an ongoing investigation.

In another video obtained by 4 News Now, police can be seen arresting a suspect following the shooting. In the same video, a victim is shown lying on the ground surrounded by paramedics. Police have not yet released the name or current condition of the victim.

According to police, 36-year-old Hoyt Webb was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail on Friday for first-degree assault related to the shooting. Webb is being held on a $75,000 bail and is expected to appear in Spokane County Court on Monday.
