But while one fire was completely extinguished another fire broke out in Kaanapali, a town north of Lahaina in West Maui, they are now evacuating people due to the growing fire.

Many airborne pollutants already fall to the ground.
The situation is very serious and people are already evacuating!
Chemicals already contaminated much of the water supplies on the island. On Aug. 11, 2023, Maui County issued an “unsafe water” alert for areas of Lahaina and Upper Kula that were affected by wildfires, warning residents to use only bottled water for drinking and cooking, and not rely on boiling tap water because of the risk of harmful chemicals.
If these fires are not stopped in time the island will not be able to return in normal for many years to come.
This is a breaking story and we will post updates soon.
