After U.S. Supreme Court Rejected Texas Lawsuit, Will Trump Use His Rumored “2018 Executive Order Plan” To Retain The Presidency?

Opinion

Before and after election day Americans are once again scrolling through news feeds full of stories about foreign operations that seek to undermine their country’s electoral process. Some of the reports raise questions about whether the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is politicizing these concerns—and the president himself has cast doubt on the integrity of the election. Americans are left wondering what to make of all the noise.

Sidney Powell did get this rumor up in the air last month when she held a press conference together with Trump’s legal team where she claimed that The Dominion Voting Systems, the Smartmatic technology software, and the software that goes in other computerized voting systems here as well, not just Dominion, were created in Venezuela at the direction of Hugo Chavez to make sure he never lost an election after one constitutional referendum came out the way he did not want it to come out.”

She also alleged a huge influence on our election that comes from communist money through Venezuela, Cuba, and likely China.

So far fact-checkers denied these rumors.

But Powell is not alone in these statements according to Attorney General William Barr China is the greatest national security threat facing the United States.

National security officials told lawmakers in March that the intelligence community has not concluded that Russia is backing any particular 2020 candidate but did warn about interference campaigns by multiple countries. The information appeared in an unclassified fact sheet from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

“The IC has not concluded that the Kremlin is directly aiding any candidate’s reelection … nor have we concluded that the Russians will definitely choose to try to do so in 2020,” the ODNI said. “This is not a Russia-only problem. China, Iran, other countries like North Korea and Cuba, and non-state actors all have the opportunity, means, and potential motive to interfere in the 2020 elections as a way to achieve their goals.”

Now why these allegations that were mentioned are important?

Yesterday U.S. Supreme Court rejected Texas lawsuit contesting 2020 election results in four battleground states Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

In a few brief sentences, the high court said it would not consider the case for procedural reasons, because Texas lacked standing to bring it.

Trump supporters were mentioning the famous Executive Order on Imposing Certain Sanctions in the Event of Foreign Interference in a United States Election from 2018 even before this rejection now many of them are claiming that he will use it.

Two years ago Jeff Sessions stated:

Attorney General Sessions today issued the following statement on the Election Security Executive Order:
“The American people will not tolerate attempts to undermine the integrity of our electoral process—especially by foreign countries and other bad actors.
President Trump is committed to taking definitive action to prevent anyone—foreign or domestic—from illegally interfering in our elections, and the Department of Justice is proud to support him in this mission.
“Pursuant to the President’s executive order, the Department will work with our partners at the State Department, Treasury Department, and Department of Homeland Security, in order to identify enemies of our country who put our electoral integrity at risk.

Will President Trump use this executive order is hard to tell but it seems many people believe he will.

Some of them went one step further and claimed that all of Big Tech will be quickly banning and censoring all support of the 2018 EO.

Elizabeth Goitein’s January 2019 article “The Alarming Scope of the President’s Emergency Powers” written for “The Atlantic” states that “From seizing control of the internet to declaring martial law, President Trump may legally do all kinds of extraordinary things.”

President Trump has clearly discussed and been briefed on a strategy to contest the election via Constitutional means, first through the courts and then through House, saying at a Sept. 26 rally in—where else—Pennsylvania: “And I don’t want to end up in the Supreme Court and I don’t want to go back to Congress either, even though we have an advantage if we go back to Congress — does everyone understand that? I think it’s 26 to 22 or something because it’s counted one vote per state, so we actually have an advantage. Oh, they’re going to be thrilled to hear that.”

So as Sidney Powell indicated, the Kraken has been released, at the time it had no sense but if her allegations are proven to be real then the situation could get serious!

Here is a Sidney Powell retweeted civil rights attorney, Leigh Dundas, breaking down President Trump’s 2018 Executive Order:

Next week the Director of National Intelligence (DNI John Ratcliffe) is required to release his report which is to cover an inventory of all known acts of foreign intervention into the 2020 election. DNI’s report due on December 18 (45 days from the 2020 election).
