The FBI has raided the Maryland home of former Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton in what is being described as a high-profile national security probe.
At 7 a.m. Friday morning, agents stormed Bolton’s Bethesda residence in an operation that FBI Director Kash Patel is personally leading. As the raid unfolded, Patel took to X with a pointed message: “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission.”

The investigation, according to senior officials, ties back to a classified documents probe that began years ago but was abruptly shut down under Joe Biden’s Department of Justice. Sources allege it was shelved “for political reasons.” Now, with President Trump back in office, the case has been revived.
Bolton has long been a controversial figure. Once a top adviser to Trump, he turned into one of his fiercest critics, most notably with his 2020 tell-all book, “The Room Where It Happened.” That book drew sharp scrutiny at the time for allegedly including classified information, sparking legal disputes with the government.
The FBI’s return to the case signals a new willingness to pursue potential wrongdoing that was swept under the rug during the Biden years. Patel’s comments underscore that the Bureau, under Trump’s leadership, is not giving political insiders a free pass — even if they once worked inside the White House.
For now, the FBI has not confirmed what exactly agents seized from Bolton’s home, but the raid itself makes one thing clear: the era of selective enforcement is over.
